Dreaming is believing, claim researchers of a new study, who found that dreams have an effect on people's behavior, judgment as well as they might contain important hidden truths. Psychologists' interpretations of the meaning of dreams vary widely. But findings show that people believe their dreams provide meaningful insight into themselves and their world. To be more scientific about dreams, Dreams can be called as a succession of images, ideas, emotions and sensations occurring involuntarily in the mind during certain stages of sleep.
When we sleep, we lose consciousness of ourselves. We do not know what happens to us or even our body. But our subconscious mind still keeps on working. Depending upon our desires, thoughts and events, we see them as dreams. Thus, your mind works in such a way that it fulfils whatever you desire. When some people agree with this, other just skips off the subconscious mind and gives explanation in another way. The first person to give a scientific explanation of dream was the Greek philosopher Aristotle. At first, he spoke of the soul exercising special clairvoyant powers, in accord with its divine nature, when freed from the body's constraint in sleep. However, he was to conclude that the function of sleep and dreams was to dissipate the vapors that rose from the stomach after food. Similarly, for many centuries it was believed that blood rose to the brain and caused congestion there. Sleep enabled the blood to drain drained back into the rest of the body.
